Dense green foliage with showy pink blooms in spring. Can take up to 3 years to produce nuts. Nuts ripen in fall. Self-fertile. Outstanding ornamental tree.
Round, medium dark red fruit. Crisp, very juicy yellow flesh. Spicy wine-like flavor. Ripens in September. Great for cooking, sauce and apple cider. Will not pollinate other apples.
New late-season apple from New Zealand. Medium to large fruit of very high quality. Orangish red blush over yellow background. Matures in October. Excellent flavor. Best if thinned. Good keeper. Needs pollination.
Large yellow-green fruit that is sweet and juicy with a mild sweet flavor. Crisp for eating and resists scab. Fruit from mid-September to early October. Grafted on MM106.
Medium ruby red apple with a non-browning white flesh. Sweet flavor with a slight tartness. Similar to a Macintosh apple. Excellent for fresh eating, cooking, and cider. Needs a pollinator.
Fruit size medium to large; shape intermediate to flat, truncate conic to rectangular, convex, slightly ribbed; skin solid red with slight striping, thick, waxy; flesh crisp, creamy; flavor subacid, aromatic. High quality dessert apple also good for cider. Fruits mid to very late season. Vigorous, upright early bearing tree, spur type habit; produces annually, needs some thinning. Self-fruited. Ripens two weeks after McIntosh and hangs on tree longer.
Heavy red striping on golden skin gives it a red-orange color. Crisp, dense, aromatic flesh. Subacid or semi- sweet. Excellent quality. Keeps very well. Semi self fertile. Ripens during September.
Gravenstein apple trees bear outstanding dessert apples. At maturity this vigorous tree yields crops of medium fruit with red-over-green skin and yellow flesh. Requires pollinator.
Vigorous spreading tree. Large fruit has yellow or greenish yellow skin with red stripes. Unexcelled for cooking. Firm white flesh. Good eating or cooking. Ripens in August. Makes good pies, desserts, sauces and cider. Requires pollinator.
McIntosh-type dessert apple with improved color. Medium sized, firm fruit with 90% dark red color over greenish background. Firm, crisp, high quality flesh. Ripens in September. Excellent for fresh eating.
This Johnathan-Red Delicious cross looks like a Johnathan in shape and color. Good choice for humid damp climates. Annual producer. Ripens late September, early October. Grafted on M26.
Sport of Fuji apple. High quality apple with 80% red color with stripe. Tall, rectangular, medium sized fruit. Crisp, juicy slightly subacid. Good keeper. Requires cross pollination; ripens September-October.
Late-ripening red-striped apple for fresh eating, freezing & cooking. Med sized fruit witrh a crisp, juicy white flesh; a tart but well balanced flavor. Pollinate with Red or Yellow Delicious, Early Harvest or different apple variety. Requires moist, well-drained soil.
A medium-large, round apple with a slightly tart taste, the Rome Beauty is famed for its deep red color and excellent storage qualities. The Rome's flesh is crisp, firm and a greenish-white, and it has a thick skin. It is a good apple eaten fresh but is particularly valued for baking and in cider.
A cross between McIntosh and Newtown apples. An excellent all-purpose apple with crisp, snowy-white flesh. The Spartan has a distinctive sweet flavor with a wine-like quality. Sweet flavor intensifies with storage.
Large, round, especially beautiful apple; pale yellow waxy skin blushed with rosy pink. Crisp, tangy, juicy flesh is highly aromatic with a mild, banana-like flavor.
Imported from Russia in 1870, this small tree is very hardy and bears clear yellow apples. Its tender, melting flesh is a favourite for pies and sauces, and good for early summer eating. Ripens from late July to early August.
