This small deciduous tree, commonly known as 'Okushimo', features an upright, vase-shaped habit, making it an excellent selection for adding vertical interest to a landscape. Hardy in zones 5-8, it thrives in a variety of conditions, preferring well-drained soil and partial to full sunlight. The tree's distinctively curled green leaves create an engaging texture throughout the growing season, transitioning to stunning shades of yellow-orange in the fall. It generally reaches a mature height of 15-20 feet and showcases a decent resistance to deer. While not typically known for flowering, its unique foliage is its primary ornamental attraction. Ideal for temperate climates, it offers a striking visual display, enhancing both residential and public garden settings.
